High Tea at Vic Falls

This was another must do event and I'm so pleased I wasn't on a diet. With a view of the bridge over the gorge the grand old lady stands strong and her colonial beauty and such a treat.

Dinner experience of note ..... The Boma

On hearing that we were off to Vic Falls we had a few friends give us a list of things we just had to do while there, hence the very busy schedule. Thanks to everyone for all your great ideas as it made our stay just damn fantastic. One of those tips was to have dinner at The Boma. Very expensive but well worth the money for the experience. It's always full so booking is essential. You're treated to an evening of all you can eat traditional food and traditional entertainment. However we were very fortunate to have the company of a spectacular bongo drummer, John Maritz who with all his enthusiasm and unique rhythm had us in fits of laughter. A gem of a night for sure.. Dave, John and Sally entered the hall of fame for eating mompane worms too :-)))

Zambezi Sunset Booze Cruise with Hippo Porn.....

A booze cruise on the Zambezi is a must and not sure if it was too much to drink but the photo's don't lie. No privacy for the hippo's in mating season. Great value for money with snacks and drink as much as you like in an hour and a half. What a jol!!!

The Fun....... Elephants

On this trip there were many firsts for me, one being riding an elephant. Sitting up so high on this huge powerful general giant was flipping awesome. Those that know Dave, know that he doesn't ride anything that doesn't have a throttle and a break so having him share this with me was very special. We got to ride the biggest male Ellie called Jake, the leader of the pack and Sally and John rode Janet with her baby following behind. Ellie don't have any predators so when walking in the wild the other animals don't scare away from them either and you can get up fairly close as we did toBuffalo and Waterbuck. We even saw a croc on our adventure :-))

The Fun..... F$&!

The drop is over 70Ok ok so I've packed on a few kilos with over 6500 km done, no excersise and loads of wine ;-) However I'm still going to post my pics and lose the kilos when I get home hopefully tomorrow evening. Here are some wild times :-))

John all set

The sun rise they would have seen going over the bridge into Zambia

This Bayobab tree is between 1000 and 1500 years old.
